We create spaces where creativity and presence belong to everyone—places to slow down, work with your hands, and find joy in the process, not just the result.
Since 2021, MCI has grown into a community that welcomes curious beginners, seasoned crafters, and future teachers. Whatever your path, you’ll find warmth, encouragement, and inspiration in every class.
Kelly hikes Alpine trails with her collie whenever she can. She grew up between a Midwestern farm and suburban New Jersey, a mix that shaped her grounded, creative way of seeing the world.
Erin has lived in Quito and on the Galápagos Islands, speaks Spanish, and has visited Plum Village. An artist and free spirit, she brings color, curiosity, and a sense of discovery into every project.
Debbie grows indigo in her garden, gets excited when osage orange turns fabric golden, and grew up in New England and Brittany before living in South Africa and Germany.
Heidi has the heart of a child and the wisdom of an old soul. She makes playful rugs and practical fabric toys and learning tools that spark joy.
Gwen is an extraordinary knitter from Yorkshire who came to mindfulness later in life. She now shares simple, calming practices that bring warmth and joy to everyday making.

“I didn’t think I needed anyone to tell me how to make things with my hands — I can usually figure things out myself. But I felt so good after doing the practices here. The teachers know their craft, and that seriousness made me feel like I was part of something bigger. All my hobbies suddenly felt more meaningful. That surprised me in the best way.”
“What with teenagers, parents, and work, my days feel like everyone wants something from me. The Circle is the place I am not on call. I just show up, breathe, stitch, and remember who I am. It sounds simple, but it’s the most important thing I do for myself. I thought I was too busy to add one more thing — but this isn’t one more thing. It’s the one thing that gives me the energy to show up for the rest.”
“At this point, I’m not looking for hobbies. I’m looking for something that respects my time and my intelligence. Here, I found that — a practice that’s grounding and quietly exhilarating. It reminded me that I’m still learning, still capable of surprise, and still have more I want to experience. That’s rare to find.”
